Not quite sure what happened, but I’ve had about 400 hits a day over the weekend for my Sham Wow review.  Just wanted to take a moment to say hi to all of you.

Needs of the Many is mostly a political blog, but I have a popular segment called “Fights Back.”  It’s a play off of the old TV show “Fight Back.”  I do not get paid for my reviews, and I have not been contacted by any company to review any product.  The reviews I do are only of products I personally have used in my home.

Ron Paul Supporters No Longer Plotting To Destroy Country

A few days ago I told you about the report where Ron Paul supporters were considered a militia threat.

Well, the idiots have decided that maybe they were a little too stupid.

The Missouri Highway Patrol this week retracted a controversial report on militia activity and will change how such reports are reviewed before being distributed to law enforcement agencies.

The Highway Patrol also will open an investigation into the origin of the report, which linked conservative groups with domestic terrorism and named former presidential candidates Ron Paul, Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin.

The Retards In California Are At It Again

This time they are going after the color of your car. Sound crazy? Well it is, but since when do greenies use science to make their case. By now you’ve heard about the proposed ban on black cars, but you should know that it is a ban on ALL dark hue cars … not just black.

In a move that will likely get California’s consumers in a huff, impending legislation may soon restrict the paint color options for Golden State residents looking for their next new vehicle. The specific colors that are currently on the chopping block are all dark hues, with the worst offender seemingly the most innocuous color you could think of: Black. What could California possibly have against these colors, you ask? Apparently, the California Air Resources Board figures that the climate control systems of dark colored cars need to work harder than their lighter siblings – especially after sitting in the sun for a few hours.

For everyone with some semblance of common sense left, you know that dark cars absorb heat. Thereby cooling the air around them. Lighter colored cars have the exact opposite effect. They reflect heat, and make the air around them hotter.

The legislation is not really based on the effect of the planet’s air temperatures do to the hue of the cars though. It is based on the temperature inside the car, and how much the AC works to cool it off. Since darker cars retain more heat … the AC works a little harder to cool the vehicle. This causes your carbon footprint to increase, or so they say. We all know the whole carbon footprint crap is BS anyway.

However, we have already addressed the efficiency of the automobile’s AC, and we continue to make progress. Remember when cars used to use R12 to cool down the car? For you car noobs … that’s freon. We don’t use freon anymore for a host of reasons, but the main reasons are that it is a pollutant and it is not as energy efficient as R134a. Most modern vehicles us R134a to fuel the car’s AC nowadays, and many people have converted their older freon using cars to R134a.

What does all this mean? It means we completely altered the AC systems of our cars, but a couple of retarded greenies don’t think it’s enough. I wonder how long it will take before we regress to yesteryear when cars rarely came with an AC.

Make sure you guys look out for this proposed ban on car colors to be linked to the “climate change mitigation and adaptation fee” whose home resides in California. This is nearly as dumb as the federal stimulus bill that includes funding for a national car crushing campaign to destroy, and effectively outlaw, many trucks or SUVs.

The color of your car is just another way to scare you by using the politics of fear. Fear of something that literally DOES NOT EXIST anymore, and was never man-made to begin with. At what point will lawmakers finally acknowledge that the planet is continuing to cool, and reverse course by requiring us to drive gas-guzzling SUVs?

Obama’s Approval Rating Plummets. Most Feel US Headed In Wrong Direction.

Zogby International has released a grim poll for President Obama.  Most of you know Zogby as a self-admitted “flaming liberal” who spins his polls to benefit Democrats.  However, this latest one is not keeping with that tradition.

45% approve of the direction of the country, but 47% don’t … uh oh.

His job approval has dipped below 50%, but he is still viewed as favorable by 56% of people polled.  A favorable rating with a poor job approval rating just further confirms Obama mania.  Even though they don’t like the direction of the country, or what he is doing, they still like him … interesting.

Shocker: Obama’s Administration Grants Less Press Access Than Bush

Just the latest in a long line of duh …

Washington Post’s Glenn Kessler let some of the dissatisfaction show on his blog during the trip to Europe and the Middle East.

He reported from Sharm el-Sheikh that Clinton was the first secretary of state in seven years not to brief reporters at the beginning of a trip. “We got off the plane, wordless. This was a big deal for the press corps,” he wrote.

Kessler declined to comment and referred to his blog items, but others on the trip said they blamed Reines, who remains the press corps’ main point of informal contact for Clinton, for the tightening of information and access.

Ron Paul Supporters Want To Destroy America?

I’m no fan of Ron Paul in any way, and most of his supporters that I’ve met are actually liberals playing the role of Republicans in order to destroy the party. However, I in no way think that his supporters are a militia group to be worried about.

This is just lunacy, and I can only imagine the liberal uproar about something like this if it happened when Bush was still president.

If you’re an anti-abortion activist, or if you display political paraphernalia supporting a third-party candidate or a
certain Republican member of Congress, if you possess subversive literature, you very well might be a member of a domestic
paramilitary group.

That’s according to “The Modern Militia Movement,” a report by the Missouri Information Analysis
Center (MIAC), a government collective that identifies the warning signs of potential domestic terrorists for law enforcement
communities.

People who supported former third-party presidential
candidates like Texas Rep. Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin and former Georgia Rep. Bob Barr are cited in the report, in addition to
anti-abortion activists and conspiracy theorists who believe the United States, Mexico and Canada will someday form a North
American Union.

“Militia members most commonly associate with 3rd party political groups,” the report reads. “It
is not uncommon for militia members to display Constitutional Party, Campaign for Liberty or Libertarian material.”

Other
potential signals of militia involvement, according to the report, are possession of the Gagsden “Don’t Tread on Me” flag
or the widely available anti-income tax film “America: Freedom to Fascism.”

I think I speak for all of us when I say that these retards have lost their minds.

While most Paul supporters, conspiracy theorists, and the NAU crowd are easily misled by nonsensical crap … that hardly qualifies as a militia movement. Now the anti-abortion crowd does have some solid militia candidates, but that’s another post for another time.

If you want to find real “militia” threats to the US then you need to look at militant racist groups like the Black Panthers. Better yet, why don’t you start looking into mosques with clerics who preach America’s destruction, or maybe look into this all Muslim town in New York founded by a former terrorist … duh.

Obama Caves! You Saved Veteran’s Health Benefits!

All of those angry calls, letters, and bad publicity you all layed upon this administration has finally paid off.  Obama’s plan to exterminate many health benefits for our veterans has been defeated … at least for the moment.

The White House on Wednesday backed off a controversial plan that would have dramatically altered the way the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) handles insurance claims, after veterans groups staged an all-out fight against such a proposal.

President Obama will not pursue a proposal that would have allowed the VA to charge private insurance companies for the treatment of veterans with service- and war-related injuries. The proposal raised the ire of prominent Democrats on the House and Senate Veterans’ Affairs panels. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was the first to announce Wednesday afternoon that the president won’t pursue such a proposal.

Bush is once again taking the high road that so often angered his supporters when he was president.  He is refusing to sling mud back at those who attack him.  This time that person is our current president.
