The arrogance of these greenies is almost unbearable. Yesterday I told you that the IPCC was forced to admit they’d lied about some of their claims, and lifted them from magazine articles that weren’t based on any science or research … but hypothesis.
Today it’s more of the same. Along with a defiant refusal to step down by the IPCC’s fearless fraud leader, Dr Rajendra Pachauri. Who as it turns out, has NO climate science credentials at all. He’s the literal equivalent of Joe the Plummer dictating climate policy.
The IPCC’s 2007 report, which won it the Nobel Peace Prize, said that the probability of Himalayan glaciers “disappearing by the year 2035 and perhaps sooner is very high”.
But it emerged last week that the forecast was based not on a consensus among climate change experts, but on a media interview with a single Indian glaciologist in 1999.
The IPCC admitted on Thursday that the prediction was “poorly substantiated” in the latest of a series of blows to the panel’s credibility.
Gee, another Nobel Prize awarded based on fraud … shocking.
Syed Hasnain, the Indian glaciologist erroneously quoted as making the 2035 prediction, said that responsibility had to lie with them. “It is the lead authors — blame goes to them,” he told The Times. “There are many mistakes in it. It is a very poorly made report.”
He and other leading glaciologists pointed out at least five glaring errors
It says the total area of Himalyan glaciers “will likely shrink from the present 500,000 to 100,000 square kilometers by the year 2035”. There are only 33,000 square kilometers of glaciers in the Himalayas.
There’s more errors highlighted in the article, including the IPCC using the World Wildlife Fund (the people who scare your children with dead animals) as a source of information. The IPCC is not supposed to use advocacy groups for data. That last part should be a no brainer, but I guess the lines get blurred when you’ve ceased to be a scientific entity and instead become an advocacy group yourself.
The greenies continue to have their asses handed to them by logic, facts, science, and their own corruption. The International Panel on Climate Change was forced to admit one of their claims about the Himalayan glaciers was actually lifted from a magazine article in 1999. Furthermore, there is no research on the claim at all.
The International Panel on Climate Change was forced to admit its key claim that Himalayan glaciers would melt by 2035 was lifted from a 1999 magazine article. The report was based on an interview with a little-known Indian scientist who has since said his views were “speculation” and not backed up by research.
It was also revealed that the IPCC’s controversial chairman, Dr Rajendra Pachauri, described as “the world’s top climate scientist”, is a former railway engineer with a PhD in economics and no formal climate science qualifications.
Oh Sh*t! You mean the greenies elevated a man-made global warming scientist who has NO TRAINING in this field? I’m just SHOCKED (sarcasm)!
Man, the only that could make this better is if we discover, yet another, financial conflict of interest.
Dr Pachauri was yesterday accused of a conflict of interest after it emerged he has a network of business interests that attract millions of pounds in funding thanks to IPCC policies. One of them, The Energy Research Institute, has a London office and is set to receive up to £10million from British taxpayers over the next five years in the form of grants from the Department for International Development.
Big time hat tip goes to Atlas Shrugs (which you should read every day).
In the wake of a revelation by a key research institution that it destroyed its original climate data, the Competitive Enterprise Institute petitioned EPA to reopen a major global warming proceeding.
In mid-August the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (CRU) disclosed that it had destroyed the raw data for its global surface temperature data set because of an alleged lack of storage space. The CRU data have been the basis for several of the major international studies that claim we face a global warming crisis. CRU’s destruction of data, however, severely undercuts the credibility of those studies.
In a declaration filed with CEI’s petition, Cato Institute scholar and climate scientist Patrick Michaels calls CRU’s revelation “a totally new element” that “violates basic scientific principles, and “throws even more doubt” on the claims of global warming alarmists.
CEI’s petition, filed late Monday with EPA, argues that CRU’s disclosure casts a new cloud of doubt on the science behind EPA’s proposal to regulate carbon dioxide. EPA stopped accepting public comments in late June but has not yet issued its final decision. As CEI’s petition argues, court rulings make it clear that agencies must consider new facts when those facts change the underlying issues.
CEI general counsel Sam Kazman stated, “EPA is resting its case on international studies that in turn relied on CRU data. But CRU’s suspicious destruction of its original data, disclosed at this late date, makes that information totally unreliable. If EPA doesn’t reexamine the implications of this, it’s stumbling blindly into the most important regulatory issue we face.”
Among CRU’s funders are the EPA and the U.S. Department of Energy – U.S. taxpayers.
Has been established by a Scottish retard named Richard Lochhead, the Scottish environment minister.
Richard Lochhead, the Scottish environment minister, unveiled a five-point action plan for the country’s agricultural sector to reduce its greenhouse gases.
A fact sheet has been produced outlining how farmers can adjust their animals’ diets to reduce methane emissions. The measures include ensuring livestock eats the right length of grass.
Please feel free to look through this site about cow fart and its environmental impact, or lack thereof. Don’t forget to read the “Comprehensive Link List Disproving Man-Made Global Warming.”
Oh, and for the record … termites and natural wetlands produce far more methane than anything else on the planet.
How do you tell burnouts they’ve done too much dope? The same way you tell the rest of the retards who believe this garbage. You overwhelm them with facts until their heads explode.
British rock group Duran Duran and heavy metal band Scorpions are among 55 world celebrities who have joined in recording a song to draw attention to the global warming crisis, organisers said on Monday.
The song is part of a mass media campaign on the threats of climate change organised by the Geneva-based Global Humanitarian Forum, headed by former UN secretary general Kofi Annan.
The song entitled “Beds’r Burning”, which was originally recorded by the Australian group Midnight Oil in the 1980s, can be downloaded from the Internet for free and will be presented to the public at a launch in Paris on October 1.
Ah man … it’s bad enough they’re peddling lies, but to desecrate a classic like “Beds’r Burning?”
We’ve just added another link proving man-made global warming is a farce. This new link is even more amazing in that some continue to say that global warming exists even though all data shows global temperatures declining the last three years.
Some even say that man-made global warming will come back. Thereby admitting it has left.
The greenies have been saying such things for a while now, and last week Oregon State University also said you should have less kids because they destroy the planet. The zero population crowd simply proves how hateful greenies are.
Now we are learning that another zero population advocate is advising President Obama as we speak. No, there’s nothing unsettling about this at all.
A top White House adviser to President Barack Obama argued that mankind eventually must face up to the need for a “world of zero net physical growth” and “population limitation” in an essay he co-authored that was included in a 1995 book on environmentally “sustainable” economic activity published by the World Bank.
John P. Holdren, who is now director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, co-authored the essay with Paul Ehrlich and Gretchen Daily of the Center for Conservation Biology at Stanford. Ehrlich has been a well-known population control advocate since he authored the 1968 bestseller, “The Population Bomb,” in which he advocated zero population growth. At the time the 1995 essay was published, Holdren was a professor at the University of California.
The essay—“The Meaning of Sustainability: Biogeophysical Aspects”—was published in the first chapter of “Defining and Measuring Sustainability: The Biogeophysical Foundations,” a book published in 1995 by the World Bank. The book is available as a PDF on the World Bank’s Web site.
I am a restaurant industry professional. I am often faced with the issue of having guests arrive at the restaurant reeking of cologne or perfume. To say that this is both obnoxious, and in some cases nauseating, is putting it lightly. Can you explain to your readers to impress upon them the importance of not overdoing the use of cologne or perfume when going to a restaurant?
I feel — and smell — your pain. To me it’s almost worse than secondhand smoke. I’ve had clouds of stinky floral perfumes engulf me as I try to enjoy my meal. Not only does everything end up tasting like a truckload of gardenias, I leave with a headache.
There has to be a happy medium here. We’ll wear less cologne and perfume if they’ll just shower and wear deodorant. Of course, men’s cologne would be less obnoxious if it actually smelled like something a man would wear instead of girlie perfume.
I’ve had a ton of requests for more global warming information. I don’t focus on it as much as I did at the previous site, but I’ve started a link list to help you find global warming info quickly. I’m avoiding blog posts in the links wherever possible to maintain its integrity, but many blogs have helped in my research … especially GatewayPundit.
While I know man-made global warming to be a myth, Earth was warming for nearly a century due to natural cycles. That warming trend has ended for now, and we are currently cooling. Cooling, by the way is far more dire.
This information is not intended to be an attack on clean technology, or anti-pollution measures. We’ll take those issues on an individual basis, because some are good suggestions while others are asinine.
Please enjoy, and feel free to contribute to the list in the comments.
UPDATE ADDED December 2009
— Rather than post all links associated with Climategate, do a simple search for Climategate via your preferred search engine. Some of the links associated with Hadley falsifying global warming data will be contained within this list. However, the scandal is so massive it deserves it’s own list.
This list is ever growing, and changing. There is too much to put into one page, but we’ll try to get the most concise links to provide evidence to argue against man-made global warming.
If you have a suggestion to add to the site, please feel free to let me know.
I’ve been negligent in my updating of this site due to other obligations. Below are several links that should have been added to this list a long time ago. Thanks for your continued support.
