US Lawmakers Tell Cuba U.S. Still Racist

Posted by Casey on April 7, 2009

File this under more US congressmen going abroad to rip our country.  Once again we can thank Democrats for this insult to America.  Democrat members of Congress, and the Congressional Black Caucus decided to take a trip to Cuba in order to mend fences, so to speak.  As is typical of Dems traveling outside the US these days … they just ended up insulting Americans again.

Check out the heaps of praise our elected representatives lay upon the Communist pig, Castro.

Former Cuban President Fidel Castro was “very engaging, very energetic,” U.S. Rep. Barbara Lee, a California
Democrat, said following a congressional delegation’s meeting with the ailing revolutionary.

The delegation that traveled
to Cuba featured six members of the Congressional Black Caucus and Rep. Mike Honda, D-Calif., and they returned to Washington
late Tuesday afternoon and urged the United States government to begin steps to alter its relationship with Cuba.

“For
the past 50 years, the United States has been swimming in the Caribbean Sea of delusion,” said Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo.,
who described the United States as “the isolated nation” compared to European countries which have diplomatic ties with Havana.

“This
is the dawning of a new day,” Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., declared. “Fifty years of foolishness is over. It’s time for the children
to sit in the corner and the adults to take over.”

All of that is sickening enough, but expected given the love fest Dems have for Castro, and his style of government. All of that pales in comparison to what Castro said happened later in exchanges with our delegation.

Tuesday afternoon, the Cuban government
released a statement that it indicated was Fidel Castro’s assessment of a session he had with the lawmakers. In the statement,
Castro said that one of the Members of Congress told him that the United States should “apologize” to Cuba. And another lawmaker
told the former leader that despite the victory by President Obama, U.S. society is still “racist.”

All members of the
delegation denied that those two exchanges took place during their time with Fidel Castro.

Right about now some of you libs reading this are going to say that I lied about these representatives insulting Americans, but you’d be a dumbass. You’d have also tipped your hand if you’re one of these people who feels Castro, and Cuba, have gotten a bad rap.

Who is lying? Castro? The delegation? Does it matter?

If Castro is lying then some must admit that he isn’t as misrepresented as they would have you believe. If our delegation is lying then others will have to admit that these Dems went to an enemy nation, and insulted our country. There is a third party of thought here also. If you think Castro lied, but the delegation was trying to do something good you have now discovered exactly how clueless they really are.

Rep. Mel Watt, D-N.C. said,

“You can’t not talk to people and expect to get a desirable result.”

Apparently Mr. Watt, you can’t talk to people and expect to get a desirable result either. As Castro has just proven, when you talk to our enemies from a position of weakness you are opening yourself up to their negative propaganda.

Unless … Castro is telling the truth.
