Getting Sloshed On The Taxpayer’s Dime

Posted by Casey on January 22, 2010

Politicians are well-known for wasting our money so they can live very comfortably.  While many of us are outraged over such lavish waste, libs tend to forgive the behavior (unless a Republican does it).  However, using the taxpayer’s dime to reap such rewards is one thing … taking money from our troops so you can pound shots with your buddies is another thing altogether.

When members of Congress travel overseas at the expense of the Department of Defense, they are treated to thousands of dollars worth of alcohol and other amenities. A review by The Wall Street Journal of congressional disclosure documents for 43 trips found that expenditures averaged $4,300 per trip—and that’s just what has been reported. Lawmakers are required to declare what they spend on travel but not what others like the Pentagon do on Congress’ behalf.

In March 2008, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and nine other lawmakers traveled to England, India and Spain. Their flight included $438.75 worth of alcohol, including three cases of beer, 15 bottles of wine, three bottles of vodka, Crown Royal, Dewar’s and other liquor, plus another $750 worth of chips, cakes and other snacks—all of which were paid for by the U.S. Air Force.

A junket taken by Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) to Africa in December 2008 included $3,360 in “emergency requests” paid for by the military. Some of Inhofe’s party went to a Wal-Mart and bought $130 worth of cookies, mints and other munchies for the trip. They also spent $250 at Total Wine & More.

Joel Johnson, a defense-industry analyst with the Teal Group Corporation and former staffer for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said the military-funded trips help provide a “bonding” experience between lawmakers and Pentagon officials which “is helpful for the military when they are seeking particular things in appropriations or authorizations.”

-Noel Brinkerhoff

When will my congressional representatives go on a “bonding” trip with me, or any of their other constituents?

White House To Celebrate Communism In China

Posted by Casey on September 4, 2009

UPDATE:

The White House has issued a statement that this story is incorrect. China’s flag will not be hoisted on the White House lawn, but will instead be hoisted across the street.

Unfortunately, the White House waited almost a week to respond to the story. Had they acted sooner they would have been able to prevent the justifiable outrage.

The report set off howls of protest on the internet and among conservative talk show hosts, who failed to get confirmation from the White House before airing their complaints.

Again, it was the White House who didn’t respond to the news report. The notion that bloggers or conservative talk show host could have contacted the White House for confirmation is laughable at best.

Stunned, shocked, in disbelief … all things you would have been if this were to happen under most of America’s presidents, but not this one.

Imagine the White House lawn flying China’s flag. Not because of an invasion, not because it is flying with the flags of several nations for some major event. No, the White House will fly China’s flag to celebrate 60 years of communism.

China Daily:

The national flag of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) will be hoisted at the South Lawn of the White House in Washington on September 20, media reported Sunday.

Chinese associations in the United States had applied to hold a ceremony in front of the US President’s residence to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of PRC.

Chen Ronghua, chairman of Fujian Association of the United States, told reporters that their application was approved not only because of the sound Sino-US relations but also because China is a responsible country.

“Many Americans admire China due to the success of last year’s Beijing Olympics,” said Chen.

If that’s true that Americans admire China simply because they pulled off the Olympics while effectively hiding anything embarrassing … we have regressed as a society.

China is a responsible country eh? Tell that to the Hans, and the tens of thousands of protests China’s government is dealing with every year.

By nightfall authorities had cordoned off the city center, blocking intersections with patrol cars, and disconnected mobile phone text messaging services. Paramilitary police with shields, sticks and submachine guns sealed off People’s Square, where demonstrators had shouted down politicians. About 100 green trucks parked on the plaza.

The resort to mass demonstrations to air grievances is likely to further unnerve the Chinese leadership — already grappling with tens of thousands of increasingly large and violent protests every year — just as it prepares for a nationwide celebration of 60 years of communist rule on Oct. 1.

The fact that the United States capital will be flying a foreign flag to celebrate communism is flat out sickening to any true American. Yes, I just said that. The fact that they’ll be doing it at the same time our president and congress are trying to implement some of the communist values to be celebrated at the White House is just damn demoralizing.

Honoring The Last WWI Veteran Who Passed Away Today

Posted by Casey on July 25, 2009

Harry Patch was the last WWI veteran.  He passed away today in his home.

Mr Patch served as a private at the Third Battle of Ypres – known as Passchendaele – from June to September 1917 when he was seriously injured by a shell explosion which killed three of his friends.

Any one of them could have been me. Millions of men came to fight in this war and I find it incredible that I am the only one left.

Harry Patch at Flanders war cemetery, July 2007

Here is his Wikipedia page if you wish to learn more about him.  Take some time to reflect on these great people today.  We have literally lost a generation.

Excellent Commentary On Blacks Using Race As An Excuse To Be Jerks

Posted by Casey on July 5, 2009

Readers of Needs of the Many know I haven’t been on the racial guilt bandwagon … ever. If you’re an ass, you’re an ass. If you’re a success, you’re as success … that should be applauded.  I recently wrote a very popular post about how I reject the term “reverse racism.”

The simple fact is that a major portion of the black community uses their race to get away with mediocrity, and it is an insult to the great successes of the black community … which are numerous. It’s also in direct contradiction to what Dr. King advocated.  Bill Cosby, Walter Williams, William Owens, and Juan Williams are just a few of the prominent members of the black community trying to point out this nonsense to their peers while at the same time trying to get black people to live up to their true potential.

I recently ran across a tremendous article illustrating a social worker’s ordeal in working with a black woman who was a victim simply because she was black. Whether you read it now or later … read it.

Modern blacks aren’t victims of society. In most cases modern whites are … as a matter of policy no less. That doesn’t mean that blacks, and other minorities, don’t face racism in their lives. However, whites experience racism as well. Often it is government instituted racism.  Any member of any race will likely face racism towards their race at some point in life.  All occurrences should be shunned equally.  Just like we should all be treated equally … at least based on our race. Planned Parenthood: Pussy Is Power Word For Your Vagina

Posted by Casey on July 2, 2009

Uh …

How do I start this?

Ok … here it goes.

While Stumbling today I ran across a post on the website of the International Planned Parenthood Federation. It’s somewhat vulgar, and I hesitated in using the ‘p’ word in the title of this post. There was just no other way to convey what was being said.

The post is nothing more than typical feminist nonsense designed to turn young girls and women into unmarriable whores under the guise of “empowerment” … um, yeah.

Here, it’s better to read it yourself.

Since not every woman uses the word pussy to refer to her genitals, some people might think I have chosen this title to be provocative.

Which is partly true.

Not all women call their genitals pussy, and many have no particular name for them in a sexual context. And that is the problem: there is a lack of strong, positive words for the female genitalia, and those that do exist are often used as terms of abuse.

This was my reasoning in using the title Pussypedia. I believe that women need a sexual name for their genitals, and that it is up to women to lay claim to the word pussy, or the name used in any language with the same sexual value, and free it from the more offensive sense in which it refers to a woman as a sex object.

I also think it is necessary for little girls to have an official name for their genitals. In Sweden, RFSU uses the name snippa.

It’s nice to see that the author made it clear she was more concerned with being provocative than decent at least.

P***y is a vulgar word … period. It was designed to be one. Just like the male variant c**k. Also designed to be a vulgar word, and is completely used in the same context as the ‘p’ word. It is not a term of empowerment for men in any way that would differentiate from the empowerment value of the other.

This is simple fabricated victimhood in order to perpetuate hatred of men using baseless allegations. If women, and little girls, can be made to believe they are victims … this group can get more members and support.

To “free” the ‘p’ word from the more offensive sense in which it refers to women is to completely change its definition. Something liberals, and quacks like these women have a habit of doing.

The predatory behavior of this group is made crystal clear by their insistence that little girls have a private part empowering word with the same context as the new ‘sexually liberating’ definition of p***y. After all, you can’t fund abortions unless you sexualize young girls by giving them a sexually liberating word for their privates.

Well, I’m off to free the word c**k from the more offensive sense in which it refers to a man as a sex object.

David Carradine

David Carradine, the star of the 1970s television series “Kung Fu” and the title villain of the “Kill Bill” movies, has died in Thailand, The Associated Press reported. The United States Embassy in Bangkok told The A.P. that Mr. Carradine had been found dead in his hotel suite in Bangkok, where he was working on a movie. He was 72.

Updated | 10:58 a.m. Thai police have told BBC News that Mr. Carradine was found on Thursday morning by a hotel maid in a wardrobe with a rope around his neck.

Man, I grew up with David Carradine. I watched “Kung Fu” every day as a kid. I am shocked that he seems to have committed suicide.

Veteran Wakes Up On Memorial Day To See Someone Burned His Flag

Posted by Casey on May 27, 2009

Earlier I posted about the Texas woman who was forced to take down her “offensive” American flag she displayed for Memorial Day. She is also a blue star mother.

Today I noticed a story in my local news about a veteran who woke up on Memorial Day to find that his flag had been burned by a vandal.

It’s one Las Vegas man’s yearly Memorial Day tradition: flying his American flag. But what Charles Husband discovered early Sunday morning shocked and saddened him. The flag he so proudly displayed had been burned.

Since we brought you this story Sunday, several veterans came forward to donate their flags.

“I didn’t see it waving,” Husband explains. “I looked and it was burnt.”

It was a bad case of vandalism which turned into patriotism. “It symbolizes America – how beautiful it is,” said Husband.

When word got out that Charles Husband’s flag had been burned, veterans like Jeff Durbin were watching and took action. “I went on the website. I started looking for companies (that would) deliver (to him) rapidly… good quality.”
