Honoring The Last WWI Veteran Who Passed Away Today
Posted by Casey on July 25, 2009
Harry Patch was the last WWI veteran. He passed away today in his home.
Mr Patch served as a private at the Third Battle of Ypres – known as Passchendaele – from June to September 1917 when he was seriously injured by a shell explosion which killed three of his friends.
Any one of them could have been me. Millions of men came to fight in this war and I find it incredible that I am the only one left.

Here is his Wikipedia page if you wish to learn more about him. Take some time to reflect on these great people today. We have literally lost a generation.
