No One Else Will Do It So I Will. The Cardinals Will Win Super Bowl XLIII!

UPDATE:

Well, the Cardinals had the game won, but bad defense and bad officiating won the game for the Steelers … again.  Why is it that the Steelers can never win a Super Bowl without controversial officiating?

Until the 4th quarter, the refs were calling everything against the Cardinals … no matter how ridiculous it was.  At the same time, they would have no calls on repeated holding penalties by the Steelers that allowed them to convert on long downs.  They even tried to let the Steelers off the hook when Parker clearly didn’t get out of the endzone for a safety.  At least they corrected that mistake on the next play, but it was a penalty that was too flagrant to ignore.

The fact that the Cardinals had two successful challenges against the refs was proof the game wasn’t called well.  Nonetheless, the Cardinals had their chance to seal the deal, and didn’t.

———————————————————————————————–

For the record … I am NOT a Cardinals fan.  Nor have I ever been a Cardinals fan.  I also like the Steelers, but I wouldn’t call myself a fan.  So this is not based on any bias I have either way.

I honestly think the Cardinals will defeat the Steelers in the Super Bowl for a whole host of reasons. Whisenhunt is going to prepare the Cardinals to beat the Steelers, and shock the world. He has an axe to grind with the Steelers organization, he knows how to beat the Steelers’ defense, and he is an expert play caller who will make his experience visible on game day.

This is not a popular opinion, but I’m almost always right in calling the Super Bowl when I don’t have a dog in the fight.

I think the stellar offense of the Cardinals will eventually have their way with a banged up Steelers defense. The Steelers have no one who can cover Fitzgerald at all … let alone with Boldin on the field. The Steelers’ offense isn’t that good, and the Cardinals’ defense is playing well right now. They remind me a lot of the Colts a couple years ago when they all of a sudden had a defense in the playoffs. Big Ben is prone to being picked off when the Steelers fall behind, and I fully expect the Cardinals to create turnovers.

There is another team that is built a lot like the Steelers … the Panthers. We all saw what the Cardinals did to them.

I’m also a believer in karma. The Steelers are due to get their asses kicked in the Super Bowl. The fact is, the Steelers didn’t win their last Super Bowl … the referees won it for them, and every football fan knows that truth.

I am a Pittsburgh resident and typically all about the black and gold. I am appalled, however, at the blatant holding offenses perpetrated by the Steelers throughout SuperBowl 2009…offenses that were not even remarked upon by the refs. No one is perfect, so I’ll extend a gracious 1-2 for grounds of human error. I, however, counted at least 6 instances of holding on the Steelers part.

Unfortunately, that brings me to the conclusion that this is truly another game won by the refs…well, the refs and the industry. After all, who’s really going to sell more merchandise?!

Everyone knows that Pittsburgh fans are the MOST obnoxious!!!!
