Loose Change Producer Deserted U.S. Army

UPDATE:

While I was out of town some of the questions I had about the story were answered. I have also been receiving emails, and comments, in response to the situation saying that Rowe was set up, or referring to the Fox News story that states Rowe proved his innocents. Unfortunately, for Rowe’s supporters his claims appear to be false.

Rowe is claiming this is a paperwork error on the part of the Army, and Rowe says he provided honorable discharge paperwork. The Army is singing a different tune:

A spokeswoman for the 101st Airborne said Rowe is in the system as an Army deserter.

“He was listed as a deserter in 2005,” said Lt. Col. Rumi Nielson-Green, public affairs officer for the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). “What we show is that he was absent without leave in June of 2005 and was dropped from the rolls in July 2005. … He has been apprehended for being a deserter.”

Today Hotair has more:

“According to our files, he is still on active duty,” said Cathy Gramling, a media relations specialist for Fort Campbell, Ky., home of the 101st…

A source close to Rowe’s family has said he was at the end of his active-duty enlistment in the summer of 2005 and was trying to avoid serving a second tour of duty in Iraq under the Army’s stop-loss policy when he went AWOL. He returned to Fort Campbell that summer to clear up the matter but left for good after he was told he would be sent to Iraq, the source said.

That is a far cry from an honorable discharge that Rowe has been claiming. All in all this is very confusing, and it should be noted that the Army said there is a possibility that this is an error. Errors are nothing new to the paper trail the military keeps on people, but having sources familiar with Rowe saying he went AWOL, then tried to fix it, then went AWOL again doesn’t look good.

Original Post:

I have a private detective in my family, and was going to do this investigation myself. I just didn’t have the funds. Korey Rowe’s story never did add up, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. As I do with all soldiers until there is evidence to contradict their story.

In a world where the media does a thorough background on anyone … why didn’t they do one on Rowe?

We now need to find out when he deserted the Army, and if his claims of deployments were legitimate.

Hotair:

An Oneonta man who helped produce a 9/11 conspiracy documentary that became an Internet hit was arrested Monday for allegedly deserting the Army.

Korey Rowe, 24, a veteran of Afghanistan and Iraq, was picked up by deputies at about 10:45 p.m. Monday, Otsego County Sheriff Richard Devlin Jr. said…

Rowe was arrested on a “military warrant” that Devlin said was brought to the attention of deputies by the Oneonta Police Department, who received information from a source outside of that department…

After deputies received the information from Oneonta police, they reached out to the Army, and officials from Fort Knox faxed a copy of the warrant, deputies said…

He is being held without bail in the Otsego County jail and is waiting to be picked up by U.S. Army officials, Devlin said.

Do you think Avery and crew will release yet another version of “Loose Change” to write out Rowe’s involvement?

It appears you are the one creating your own reality. The story is real, and is therefore not my “own reality.”

Nor do I have any burns, but the incoherent dribble that followed was pretty funny.
