Harry Reid Lies, And Gets Ripped By Veterans For Not Supporting Our Troops … Sun Tzu Shakes His Head

H/T: Gateway Pundit

Many of you out there really have no idea who Harry Reid is. You first learned about him when he was put at the head of the Democrat leadership recently. Here in Nevada we know who the real Harry Reid is. He’s never held any job outside of politics, everyone in his family has worked for one law firm (not his), they’ve all received virtually uncontested appointments in government, he has more ethics violations than anyone else I’ve ever heard of, mob issues, lies, Yucca Mountain, etc.

With all of that said … Harry Reid is famous in Nevada for two things above all else. Shady real estate deals, and saying that he never said something that he, in fact, said the day before.

On the tape above Reid says:

“There’s never been any suggestion that the military will not get everything they need.”

That is a complete lie.

Sen. Feingold’s website has the bill being discussed by the veteran with Reid.

April 2, 2007

Washington D.C. - U.S. Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) announced today that they are introducing legislation that will effectively end the current military mission in Iraq and begin the redeployment of U.S. forces. The bill requires the President to begin safely redeploying U.S. troops from Iraq 120 days from enactment, as required by the emergency supplemental spending bill the Senate passed last week. The bill ends funding for the war, with three narrow exceptions, effective March 31, 2008.

That’s the opening paragraph, but look at Section C which discusses funds for the war.

(c) Prohibition on Use of Funds – No funds appropriated or otherwise made available under any provision of law may be obligated or expended to continue the deployment in Iraq of members of the United States Armed Forces after March 31, 2008.

You will see a bunch of anti-war fruits who’ve never served in the military try to expose the statements made by me and others as lies because of the three exceptions. Again … I stress that they’ve never served, and don’t understand how to fight a war.

The exceptions are vague, and may be used against Reid by Bush. They are, however, clear in their intent. The US military may protect themselves from attack, train the Iraqis, and conduct limited ops against al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations. Basically, it says that if we stay in Iraq the troops don’t get any offensive equipment, and can’t carry out any significant offensive operations in Iraq aside from clearing a suspected house or two. It is the ultimate in tying the hands of our troops.

There are many quotes from a little book called (The Art of War) that would apply to this situation. Sun Tzu’s classic clearly has never been read by Reid, or most of the Democrats in Congress today … Murtha included. In (The Art of War) there is a chapter called “Tactical Dispositions.” Sun Tzu said:

“The good fighters of old first put themselves beyond the possibility of defeat, and then waited for an opportunity of defeating the enemy.”

This appears to be the strategy in Iraq. Clearly we can’t be defeated by the enemy. The US has never suffered a total military defeat, but this enemy can’t even win a battle. So we bide our time, win some hearts and minds, and then crush the enemy when the opportunity presents itself.

In that same chapter Sun Tzu seems prophetic, and addresses the exact strategy proposed by Harry Reid.

“Security against defeat implies defensive tactics; ability to defeat the enemy means taking the offensive.”

Reid, Feingold, and others are doing everything in their power to prevent victory.

We can’t lose … there is no loss for the United States. We’ve won our war with Iraq. There is an opportunity here to help in the War on Terror by not allowing the Iraqis to be conquered again … this time by our enemies.
